Introduction
The Box events team partnered with BigMarker to design and deploy an enterprise hybrid event platform to support both in-person and virtual experiences at BoxWorks 2024. The platform included full-service registration for all attendees, an attendee hub and live streaming for virtual attendees, a mobile event app and badging/check-in for in-person attendees.
BoxWorks's core message was that AI is enabling businesses to move faster than ever, creating a burning platform for industry leaders to adopt intelligent content management and AI-powered products that empower automated workflows and the ability to tap into the knowledge within a business. BoxWorks featured keynotes, talks, and expert-led breakouts to help customers chart the future at the intersection of content and AI.

Registration
BoxWork's registration platform was a full-featured, white labeled registration microsite complete with an a program overview, robust agenda, session and speaker descriptions, venue description, FAQs, and more. Registrants for both in-person and virtual tracks could complete the registration process, and the platform also supported the transition to on-demand content following the event. Over the course of multiple releases, we navigated an initial 'Save the Date' launch, as well as subsequent launches for the agenda, open registration, accommodation booking, and applications to the event's AI partner showcase.

Premium badging
BigMarker and Box collaborated to design premium badging experience for in-person attendees. Badge backs were pre-printed on high-quality PVC, and badge fronts were printed on-demand after each attendee checked in, ensuring that last-minute name, title, or company changes were accommodated to ensure a positive attendee experience. On the badge fronts, BoxWorks offered different variants for attendees, sponsors, partners, and staff, and provided a personalized QR code that each attendee could use to scan into sessions, experiences, and exhibits. The backs promoted the mobile event app.

On-site check-in
BigMarker and Box collaborated to design and deliver a premium check-in experience for in-person attendees. Using custom-branded self-service check-in kiosks, in-person attendees scanned digitally-delivered QR codes to finalize their attendee profiles and print their badges. BigMarker provided support staff on-site to help attendees check-in and answer questions.

Mobile event app
BigMarker and Box launched a beautiful BoxWorks mobile app with support for both iOS and Android. A traditional "companion app" experience helped attendees navigate the event, network with peers, and enable notifications to ensure they didn't miss their favorite sessions. The app also provided helpful maps, FAQs, and tips for exploring San Francisco. Over 82% of in-person attendees used the app, 40% engaged with the digital expo, and over 48% participated in networking.

Attendee hub & live streaming
BigMarker and Box designed an attendee hub virtual platform experience for online attendees, enabling participants from around the world to take part in the action. We live streamed to thousands of participants from dozens of countries. Over 48% of participants had a decision maker title at a target customer account, so live streaming quality, reliability, and scalability were paramount. Box and BigMarker also collaborated to design and deploy a custom audience experience for BoxWorks. The custom-branded interface married core BigMarker capabilities in live streaming, localization, dynamic content updates, and interactive capabilities with a BoxWorks custom look-and-feel, supporting both brand and audience engagement objectives.

Marketing automation system (MAS) integration
As Box's premier annual customer conference, BoxWorks plays an important role each year in achieving the company's ambitious demand generation goals, and 2024 was no different. Accordingly, the integrations work stream was one of the most important, to ensure that all of the registrant and attendee data captured at BoxWorks was immediately available and useful to downstream systems, including Box's CRM and marketing automation system (MAS). The registration platform also leveraged progressive profiling capabilities, enabling Box to collect new data points from registrants and attendees in an effort to enrich CRM profiles.
On-demand
Box repurposed its BoxWorks 2024 event platform, making it available on-demand. As a result, registrants who were not able to attend live are still able to engage with the event's exciting content, and new audience members will be able to discover it for many years to come.

Conclusion
BoxWorks 2024 was a resounding success for the Box events team, participating Box partners, and attendees alike. Celebrating the next generation of AI-powered content management and collaboration capabilities, enterprise decision makers came together with palpable energy to share strategies, inspire innovation, and forge the future of how the world's leading businesses work.
